SPIDER VEINS & REDNESS

SPIDER VEINS

Spider veins can be common concerns for many, particularly with women as they age or after pregnancy. They may appear red, blue or purple and are caused by damaged blood vessels just under the skin. They can appear on your face, legs or other parts of your body. These superficial vessels are usually harmless but rarely may cause burning, itching or discomfort (especially in your legs).

DIFFUSE REDNESS

Diffuse facial redness can occur as a result of ageing, prolonged sun exposure, pregnancy & childbirth, hormones, genetics, medication and poor skincare. It is caused by an increase in blood flow to the surface of the skin. In conjunction with medical grade skin care products to reduce the size of the dilated vessels, laser therapy is proven to be a highly effective treatment.

HOW IT WORKS

We offer both the Excel V and the Motus AZ+ lasers for treating unwanted vascular lesions, superficial vessels and to diminish facial redness from rosacea, telangiectasia and flushing. These lasers deliver a concentrated beam of light that targets the red & blue pigment in the vein, causing it to heat up and break down. As the vein breaks down, it is absorbed by the body, gradually fading the appearance of the spider vein. The laser can selectively target the spider vein without affecting the surrounding tissue, resulting in minimal discomfort and downtime. For larger vessels, we offer sclerotherapy to collapse the unneeded veins.
